The Columbus Black Women’s Health Alliance (CBWHA) is a non-profit organization
founded in 1993 as one of the first chapters of the National Black Women’s Health
Project. (Originally named the Columbus Black Women’s Health Project). The
organization strives to unify Central Ohio women of African ancestry around health
maintenance and broaden the traditional concepts of health and wellness. The
mission of the organization is to educate, empower and encourage local Black
women to take control of, and become active participants in, maintaining their
health.  

There is a $5.00 registration fee for the "Walk for Wellness" 1, 2 or 3 mile walk that
starts and finishes in the Historic Long Street District.  For information about the
