Tour de Columbus Family Bike Ride

10:00 am Ride Begins
The Long Street Tour's “Tour de Columbus" is a fun way to get fit and check out a few
of the neighborhoods in and around Columbus. The goal of the “Tour de Columbus" is
to promote cycling as a fun and healthy activity that anyone can enjoy. Participants
can ride along side cyclist, both amateur and professional as they experience
segments of the Historic King Lincoln District.
There is a registration fee of $25 and the entire ride covers approximately 10 miles
and features stops that highlight the changes occurring in our neighborhoods. Each
stop will be sponsored by businesses or community groups providing snacks, drinks
and entertainment for the riders.
The ride is configured to allow cyclists to complete segments if they do not feel
comfortable riding the entire route. The ($25) registration fee includes an official 2008
“Long Street Tour” T-shirt along with drinks and food at designated rest stops.
“Tour de Columbus” is considered a ride and not a race and will offer a variety of
course options to accommodate everyone from recreational riders to hard-core
fitness enthusiasts. Cyclist who wish to continue the entire 30 mile course on
preassigned routes to Downtown, Short North Arts District, Italian Village, University
District, Harrison West, Victorian Village, Arena District, Franklinton, Brewery District
and German Village may do so, by following the map and street markers.
